North Andover, MA W/F - 106 Boston Rd - 4/17/16
North Andover Fire was alerted to a possible house fire by a passer-by on Boston Rd in the early afternoon. Reports were for smoke coming from the roof.
Firefighters arrived to find smoke pushing from the eaves of a 1.5 story dwelling and a working fire was requested. Once access was gained, the main livable floor was clear of smoke and fire while a heavy smoke and fire condition was discovered in the attic area. Crews immediately ran a line to the rear of the structure where the main body of fire was. A crew of 2 was send via ground ladder to the roof to ventilate and the fire was quickly knocked down within 15-20 minutes. Fire crews remained on scene for about another hour overhauling.
Middleton Engine 3 was brought in to the fire as a RIT team to assist while fire companies from surrounding communities covered North Andover's fire station's while the blaze was brought under control.
