Peabody, MA - 3rd Alarm Plus - Ashford & Magnolia Way - 5/29/08
This fire came in in the afternoon of a hot and dry summer day. The cause is believed to have been careless disposal of smoking materials which caught some dry bark mulch on fire, then spread to the natural gas main on the building and off she went. Once the fire got into the attic, it was all over as state regulations did not require fire stops in the common attic. The entire 4 story building burned completely to the ground over the course of a few hours.
I apologize for the angle of the photgraph where I was shooting almost directly into the sun, which doesnt make for great photos. I got VERY lucky and got into the scene before the PPD shut the complex down. I pretty much stayed put on that side of the building and did the best I could with where I was.
